We are Ken & Peggy McCoy and are looking forward to serving with you as we partner together for the sake of the Gospel. A central theme of the Bible and Jesus' last instructions were to take the Gospel to the world. At the beginning of 2010, Ken retired from 35 years of coal mining in order to spend the rest of his life doing what he had been teaching his Sunday School classes for years.
The first country that we visited after retiring was Nicaragua. When we saw the desperate poverty and the need for the Gospel, we immediately felt a burden for these wonderful people. The Holy Spirit impressed upon us to do all we can to help them. As we studied the needs of the people, which are many, we tried to discern how we could best help them. Consequently, the Lord has led us to build Global Bible University.
There is a great need for trained pastors, who can then build strong churches. Out of these strong churches will come strong families. We feel this is the best approach to break the cycle of sin and poverty. The vision of Project 14 is to see God glorified as the broken lives of those suffering in spiritual and material poverty are transformed by the redeeming and renewing power of Jesus Christ.
